Meet Tom, then ask him…
July 7, 2010 1 CommentAs with the inaugural Insync User Group Conference in 2009, this year’s event is packed with plenty of very valuable content and some of the strongest presenting stars in the Oracle firmament.
But probably the closest thing to an actual “star” is Tom Kyte. Best known for his “AskTom.com” fame , Tom Kyte is for most Oracle DBAs the closest thing Oracle has to what Intel celebrates in their “Our Rock Stars aren’t like your Rock Stars” ads. No one, no one knows the Oracle Database better than Tom.
Tom is presenting twice at the conference:
1. Monday, 16th August at 2.30pm: DBA Super Session Reorganising Objects – When and How
2. Monday, 16th August at 4.30pm: DEV Super Session – The Best Way
We caught up with Tom after his presentation at Oracle Develop at Openworld last year:
…and then ZDnet also interviewed him on camera about how developers should ask for help.
Tom has visited Australia many times before, and on one of his visits he caught up with a couple of journalists. Read what he had to say about database history and some of the stranger problems he encounters at AskTom:
Oracle guru Kyte hits Oz
When an Oracle customer needs an answer, they send Tom Kyte. As one of the company’s foremost database experts and author of the blog Ask Tom, Kyte is one of the software giant’s dynamos in breaking apart tough user problems…
So don’t miss this chance to catch up with the King of the DBAs, and maybe even ask him a question!
